I became aware of the criticizing voice in my head after entering motherhood. I always felt negative about myself and consistently compared myself to others and other versions of myself. It began to affect my relationship with the people I loved most…Eventually, I grew tired and decided to silence the negative voice and regain my power.
I did so by choosing to say nice things to myself, focusing more on the positives, and practicing appreciating the lessons learned from the negatives.
People who want to be connected through love and respect understand that love is also a verb and is something to give—not just get.
However, maintaining a meaningful relationship often requires more than just having a desire for one. Love is patient, gentle, kind, accepting, forgiving, and constantly evolving. Building and maintaining meaningful relationships starts with the willingness to evolve and grow.
